AMERICAN LEGION POST 318 COMMANDER

Bob Kindred
| Welcome to the Morton American Legion Post 318 website. My second year has just begun. The WALL THAT HEALS, a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in DC, will be in Morton May 1st through the 4th, 2008. Post 318 is sponsoring the WALL. The location will be at Jefferson Grade School across from the Post. For more information go to the wall page at www.nam-vet.net/wthhome.htm The American Legacy Run 2007 stopped at Post 318 on August 19th. The outgoing National Commander, Paul Morin, and 200 motorcyclists had lunch here on their way to the National Convention in Reno, Nevada. These bikers rode 2000 miles to raise over $400,000 for the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund. The program is for the children of U.S. Service men and women who have died in action since Nov. 11, 2001. Post 318 was able to contribute $1200 to the fund. This years Pumpkin Festival was another successful year. Everyone had fun and worked hard supporting your post with its biggest fund raiser of the year. Thanks to all who helped this year.
